'Til You Tagged Along

Every breath makes me gasp..
Sick. Tired. Pneumonic.
A dead smother suffocates the wasp..

My visage wavering in the verdant waters..
Straight around the bend at the altar..
Scraped feet. Charred at the bit.
Chapped lips. Asphyxiated in guilt.

The body had moved on eons ago..
But the soul yet felt a whore..
For al the rights shoved in the basket..
Al the wrongs inflicted in the casket..
And al the crouched convulsions..

Find myself wading ashore..
Where the faintest sounds are ignored..
Company once was misery.
My thoughts..my discrepancy.
Felt an Alien..Almost..
'Til you tagged along.

Caught up in the web i'd spun..
Handcuffed to the lofty pole..
Bouts of incertitude surfaced the crest..
Never did i understand this gunman race..
'Til you tagged along.

You're voice now resonates in mine..
You're presence assures me i'm fine.
Pushed you away..
Yet you stayed..
My trust had never gotten laid..
'Til you tagged along.
